If anyone believes in the future of Downtown Wilkes-Barre, it's Joe Matteo.  In 2001, he purchased the Houpt/Stegmaier Mansion at Ross and Franklin.
Built in 1873, this High Victorian gem has been meticulously restored to a level of recreation and artistry seldom achieved in the United States.
The mansion can accommodate up to 50 people for a  reception and can seat 14 for a  private dinner.  Overnight accommodations will be available by early 2007.
Tours are available by appointment only.  For more information call 570-823-9372.
